Galicia's PPdeG defends AP‑9 transfer and claims to be only party protecting Galician interests

Members of the Galicia People's Party (PPdeG) – deputy Patricia García and regional MPs Irene Garrido and Pedro Puy – met with local groups in Vigo to press for the transfer of the AP‑9 highway to follow the original text approved by the Galician Parliament. They accused the PSOE, BNG and the Sumar coalition of altering the agreement in the national Congress and warned that the current terms could force Galicians to pay twice for the infrastructure.

PPdeG secretary‑general Paula Prado later stated that the party is “the only one able to defend the real concerns of Galicians,” highlighting stability, anti‑corruption claims and key infrastructure projects such as a modern railway for Lugo. She criticised the governing parties as corrupt and reiterated the party’s commitment to safeguarding Galician interests.

Both statements underline PPdeG’s strategy of framing the AP‑9 dispute and broader regional projects as a test of the party’s ability to protect Galicia’s economic and political future.
