Galvion to showcase Cortex EVO HALO upgrade for UK VIRTUS helmets
Galvion will demonstrate its Cortex EVO HALO integration concept for the UK’s in-service VIRTUS helmet at the Defence Vehicle Dynamics (DVD) 2026 event. The concept aims to provide a pathway to upgrade the existing VIRTUS helmet fleet by introducing advanced power, data, and headborne capabilities to the current protective platforms.
The VIRTUS helmet, which is Galvion’s Batlskin Cobra Plus head system, has seen more than 270,000 units delivered to the UK Ministry of Defence since 2015. The Cortex EVO HALO configuration is an externally mounted architecture designed to extend capabilities to both new and existing helmet platforms, offering a common power and data backbone for visual augmentation, sensing, digital communications, and other technologies.
