Gambia adviser Henry Gomez labels GMC a political academy and critiques Darboe’s capacity to lead
Henry Gomez, a presidential adviser and leader of the Gambia Party for Democracy and Progress, said the Gambia Moral Congress (GMC) is "more than a political party, a political academy, nurturing young politicians for tomorrow." He urged party members, especially youth, to stay committed and praised President Adama Barrow’s administration for delivering peace and development.
Gomez also warned that opposition leader Ousainou Darboe, who is over 90, would be unable to govern effectively, describing him as a "ceremonial president" who would turn the State House into a hospital and hand power to his family. He contrasted this with the governing alliance’s record and called on supporters to remain united ahead of the 2026 presidential election.
