Gambia: NPP Youth Chief Kebba Lang Fofana Slams UDP, Hails Barrow’s Record Ahead of Dec Election
Kebba Lang Fofana, a nominated National Assembly member and National Youth Secretary General of the ruling National People’s Party (NPP), criticised the United Democratic Party (UDP) for lacking policy ideas and being driven solely by the pursuit of power. He warned that a UDP‑led opposition coalition would undermine other parties and urged the opposition to avoid any alliance under UDP leadership.
Fofana also praised President Adama Barrow’s governance, citing more than 1,002 km of newly built roads, a D83 million technical‑vocational education programme, substantial agricultural subsidies and progress toward universal electricity access. He argued that these achievements make it easy to convince voters and predicted a Barrow victory in the December 5 presidential election. He further dismissed activist Madi Jobarteh as a political actor rather than a civil‑society advocate.
