Gambia's Information Minister Praises President Barrow, Warns Against Opposition

Information Minister Dr. Ismaila Ceesay said President Adama Barrow has “overdelivered” on his mandate, pointing to gains in national stability, economic growth, democratic consolidation and extensive infrastructure work, including more than 100 new roads in districts such as Hakalang, Kiang West, Brufut and Basse. He dismissed criticism over isolated flooding on a road still under construction, urging focus on the broader achievements.

Ceesay also warned that voting the Barrow administration out would be “the biggest mistake” for The Gambia, describing any opposition as inexperienced, divided and unprepared. He cited examples from Ethiopia where opposition promises failed to curb rising commodity prices, arguing that promises alone cannot replace competent governance.
