Gamescom 2026 showcases Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 and METRO 2039

During the Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live event, several new video game titles and gameplay reveals were showcased.

Cold Iron Studios released a launch trailer for Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, a third-person co-op shooter based on the Aliens film franchise. The game features four-player teams tasked with securing various space stations by fighting off alien threats, including a final encounter with an alien queen. The title is currently available on Steam.

Additionally, Deep Silver showcased new gameplay for METRO 2039. Set in a post-apocalyptic Moscow, the single-player first-person shooter follows a character known as the Stranger as he navigates the metro tunnels and ruins. The game focuses on exploration and survival within a world controlled by the Novoreich regime. Playable demos for METRO 2039 are available for attendees at the Gamescom event.
