Ganesh Puja observed on July 3, 2026 during Sankashti Chaturthi

Hindus across India will observe Sankashti Chaturthi on July 3‑4, 2026, worshipping the Krishna‑pingal form of Lord Ganesha. Devotees are advised to rise early, bathe, clean the puja space, and place a Ganesha idol or picture. Offerings include durva grass, red flowers, sindoor, modak, laddu, fruit and the chanting of "Om Gan Ganapataye Namah" at least 108 times, as well as recitation of the Ganesh Chalisa.

Fasting is observed throughout the day, avoiding meat, fish, egg, alcohol, garlic and onion, while maintaining calm conduct and abstaining from negative speech. Evening rituals involve moon‑viewing, offering water or milk to the moon, and making donations to the needy. These practices are believed to remove obstacles and bring success, especially for students, workers and traders.
