Gang Suppression Force conducts operations in Tabarre and Cité Soleil
The Gang Suppression Force (GSF) conducted security operations in the Haitian neighborhoods of Tabarre and Cité Soleil on October 5 and 6. According to official statements, the interventions resulted in the deaths of two suspected gang members and the arrest of two others.
In Tabarre, several hundred soldiers were deployed using armored vehicles and helicopters. Troops moved through narrow passages and near abandoned buildings to reach areas difficult for vehicles to access, while also removing barricades to facilitate movement.
In Cité Soleil, forces targeted the Soleil 9 route, a strategic corridor, to disrupt gang activities and clear obstacles. During these operations, authorities seized three firearms, ammunition, magazines, a radio, and two motorcycles. The GSF reported that some suspected gang members were also seriously injured during the clashes.
