Garanti BBVA finances Vezirhan Çimento green transformation projects

Garanti BBVA has provided a sustainability-linked loan (SLL) to Vezirhan Çimento Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ to support three key transformation investments aimed at low-carbon production.

The financing covers the implementation of a new cement mill to improve energy and operational efficiency, a Waste Heat Recovery (WHR) system to utilize heat from industrial processes, and a solid waste preparation and incineration plant for alternative fuel use.

Under the SLL framework, the financial terms of the credit are tied to the company’s ability to meet specific environmental performance criteria and emission reduction targets. In addition to financing, Garanti BBVA is providing consultancy services to assist the company in developing its decarbonization roadmap, identifying priority transformation areas, and assessing climate risks.
