Gardening experts recommend planting bulbs in early November
Early November remains an ideal time for planting various bulb species to ensure spring blooms. According to gardening expert Joanna Legutko, planting bulbs such as tulips, narcissus, crocuses, and scilla now allows them to root before the ground freezes. The winter cold period is beneficial for their proper development and subsequent flowering.
When planning autumn plantings, experts suggest considering plant height and blooming schedules to create visual interest. Early spring displays can be achieved with crocuses and low botanical tulips, followed by scilla, narcissus, and hyacinths. Later in the season, larger tulips and ornamental alliums can provide additional color. Planting bulbs in groups rather than individually is recommended to create a more natural appearance and a rhythmic blooming pattern.
