Garmin expands wearables with CIRQA smart band and HRM 200 monitor

Garmin has expanded its wearable lineup with the introduction of the CIRQA Smart Band and the HRM 200 heart rate monitor.

The Garmin CIRQA is a screenless smart band designed for continuous 24-hour health and activity monitoring. By removing the display, the device aims to reduce distractions and notifications, allowing users to review data later via the Garmin Connect app. The lightweight module weighs 14.8 grams, and the device does not require a subscription to access metrics, though Garmin offers an optional Connect+ service for advanced features.

Additionally, the Garmin HRM 200 serves as an entry-level chest strap heart rate monitor. Unlike optical sensors that can lose accuracy due to sweat or moisture, this ECG-based monitor detects electrical signals from the heart. Despite being a basic model, it supports heart rate variability (HRV) measurements, providing high-precision data for endurance sports and environments where wrist-based monitors may struggle.
