Garmin Fenix 9 smartwatch series leaks with LTE and satellite connectivity

Garmin is preparing a new generation of its flagship Fenix smartwatch, the Fenix 9 series, according to recent FCC filings. The documents list several variants—including a standard Fenix 9, a Fenix 9 Pro and a Fenix 9 Pro InReach—each equipped with LTE, satellite messaging, 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi, NFC and Bluetooth Low Energy. The filings also note interchangeable bands and a speaker mode for voice calls.

The leak follows earlier reports of Garmin’s screenless wearable, the $200 Cirqa, and aligns with the company’s pattern of releasing multiple versions of a new model. Analysts expect the Fenix 9 line to launch before the end of the year, with pricing likely above the $1,000 starting point of the Fenix 8. The added connectivity features target outdoor enthusiasts who need reliable communication in remote areas.
