Garmin launches Pokémon Sleep watch faces and debuts entry‑level Forerunner 70
Garmin Malaysia announced new free Pokémon Sleep watch faces for several of its smartwatches, including the fēnix, Forerunner, Venu and vívoactive series. Two designs – “Pokémon Sleep: Snorlax & Friends” and “Pokémon Sleep: I Choose You” – display Pokémon that change throughout the day based on the user’s Body Battery energy levels, with a night‑mode that activates 1½ hours before the scheduled sleep time. The faces are available now in the Connect IQ Store and compatible with the Pokémon Sleep mobile app.
Garmin also introduced the Forerunner 70, an entry‑level running watch priced around $250 / £220. It shares many features with the Forerunner 170 but omits music playback, a dedicated triathlon mode, barometer, thermometer and open‑water swim mode. Battery life reaches up to five days in GPS mode and thirteen days in smartwatch mode. The device includes Garmin Coach training plans, Sleep Coach, Body Battery and other built‑in apps. Reviewers consider it a strong choice for new runners, though multi‑sport athletes may need a different model.
