Garmin running watch launches 2026

In late July 2026 Garmin expanded its smartwatch portfolio with multiple new offerings. On July 24 the company introduced free Pokémon Sleep watch faces for several of its existing models and launched the entry‑level Forerunner 70, aimed at beginners with basic running and health features.

Two days later, Garmin announced the higher‑spec Forerunner 170, a lightweight GPS watch with an AMOLED display, barometric altimeter, multi‑GNSS tracking and advanced coaching tools. At the same event Huawei unveiled the Watch GT Runner 2, positioning it as a premium competitor with a large AMOLED screen, marathon mode and dual‑GPS.
