Garut Regency to begin Rp41 billion road repairs in September

The Garut Regency Government has announced that road repairs for the Banjarwangi–Singajaya section are scheduled to begin in September 2026. The project involves 6.5 kilometers of roadwork with an allocated budget of approximately Rp41 billion.

Agus Ismail, Head of the Garut Public Works and Spatial Planning Office, stated that the administration is coordinating with relevant authorities to initiate the bidding and construction processes. This phase is part of a larger connectivity project linking Pamegatan, Singajaya, Banjarwangi, and Peundeuy.

The funding mechanism has shifted following Presidential Instruction Number 11 of 2025. Instead of relying primarily on Special Allocation Funds (DAK), the region will utilize the Regional Road Presidential Instruction scheme, which prioritizes roads connected to national strategic programs such as food and energy self-sufficiency.
