Gautam Adani Tops Forbes Asia List with $89 bn Net Worth

Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, saw his net worth rise to $89.2 billion, making him the richest person in Asia according to Forbes’ real‑time billionaires list. He overtook Reliance Industries head Mukesh Ambani ($88 bn) and SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son ($87 bn).

The increase follows the U.S. Justice Department’s dismissal of fraud allegations against the Adani Group related to a $250 million solar‑energy contract. The group, which denied the claims, has been cleared of earlier short‑seller accusations by Indian regulators. Adani’s wealth is driven by stakes in six listed companies whose combined market capitalisation reached roughly $191 billion, with Adani Power valued at $47.2 bn, Adani Ports at $44.2 bn, Adani Enterprises at $44 bn, Adani Green Energy at $26.4 bn, Adani Energy Solutions at $19.9 bn and Adani Total Gas at $8.8 bn.

In an annual shareholder letter, Adani said the group has recovered from legal challenges and is expanding investments in energy, transportation, logistics, digital infrastructure and AI‑driven growth.
