Gaza airstrike kills six Palestinians following Kushner's failed diplomatic mission

An Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip killed at least six Palestinians and wounded 14 others on Tuesday. The strike, involving two missiles, hit a small cafe located within a fishing harbour in western Gaza City, an area that has become a displacement camp for families during the ongoing conflict.

The attack occurred one day after Jared Kushner, the envoy for Donald Trump, concluded an inconclusive two-day visit to the region. Kushner held talks in Jerusalem with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, mediators, and Hamas leaders to discuss the implementation of a U.S. roadmap intended to end the war. However, both Israel and Hamas remained firm on their primary demands, preventing a breakthrough.

The Israeli military stated the target was armed Hamas commanders allegedly planning attacks against Israeli forces. Meanwhile, an official from the Board of Peace noted that Israel maintains its right to self-defense and will not redeploy troops until Hamas is disarmed. Netanyahu has signaled that military operations in Gaza will continue without a troop withdrawal.
