Gaza Strip: Israeli strikes kill at least five people, including two children

Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip have resulted in the deaths of at least five people, including two children, according to local medical and rescue services.

Specific incidents reported include the death of a 4-year-old child during a strike at the Al-Bureij refugee camp and a 10-year-old girl killed by artillery fire near Khan Younis. In Deir al-Balah, two Palestinians were reportedly killed when a tent in a camp was struck.

Additionally, Israeli fighter jets destroyed a water desalination unit in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City using three missiles. Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qasem condemned the strike, characterizing it as an attempt to deprive residents of essential survival resources. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) responded by stating they did not target the desalination unit, but rather a Hamas weapons depot located within a nearby mosque.
