Gaza authorities report critical humanitarian aid shortages

Gaza authorities report that humanitarian aid reaching the enclave is significantly below the levels required to sustain the population. The Gaza Ministry of Social Development stated that over 95% of residents are now dependent on humanitarian assistance, while more than 90% of the population lacks the purchasing power to buy food due to the conflict and restrictions.

Officials claim that Israel is failing to meet the terms of a ceasefire agreement established in October 2025, which stipulated that at least 600 aid trucks should enter Gaza daily. Current estimates from Gaza administration officials suggest that the aid entering the territory meets no more than 15% of the overall needs, and that only about 30% of those requiring assistance are currently benefiting from it.

The implementation of the previous ceasefire remains incomplete due to ongoing disagreements regarding the order of operations, specifically concerning the disarmament of Hamas and the phased withdrawal of Israeli forces.
