Gaza ceasefire breaches kill nearly 1,000 civilians

The government media office in Gaza reported that Israeli forces have committed 3,269 violations of the cease‑fire agreement since it took effect 245 days ago. The breaches have resulted in 992 Palestinian deaths and 3,138 injuries, alongside 95 arrests.

Humanitarian access remains severely limited: only 52,740 aid trucks entered the enclave out of an expected 147,000, a compliance rate of about 36 %. Similarly, the Rafah crossing permitted merely 6,845 of the 19,600 Palestinians seeking to leave, roughly 35 % of the demand. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk echoed these figures, stating that about 1,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since the October 2025 cease‑fire and highlighting the narrowing space for civilians and the restriction on life‑saving assistance.

The reports also note ongoing displacement pressures in the West Bank, with settler violence and land‑seizure orders intensifying. International mediators have been urged to enforce the cease‑fire terms and halt further civilian targeting.
