Gaza ceasefire talks stall as Hamas blames Israel for renewed attacks

Hamas accused Israel of deliberately escalating its military campaign in Gaza to undermine a U.S.-mediated ceasefire agreement. The group said attacks since Sunday morning have killed more than 18 Palestinians, including an entire family, and called the actions a "war crime" and a threat of genocide. Hamas urged mediators and guarantors of the truce to hold Israel accountable and to protect civilians.

Israel, however, expressed strong dissatisfaction with the same ceasefire framework, saying no genuine agreement exists and that the United States' claims are misleading. Former Israeli diplomat Alon Pinkas told Al Jazeera that Israel has formally objected to the Trump‑brokered plan and continues its operations, viewing the deal as a political failure for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of upcoming elections. The Israeli government insists it has not withdrawn to the proposed buffer zone and that humanitarian aid flows remain blocked, despite Hamas’ pledge to disarm if Israel halts its assault.
