Gaza ceasefire violated as Al-Qassam commander killed in airstrike

Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip have resulted in multiple casualties and significant property destruction, marking continued violations of the ceasefire agreement. In Gaza City, an Israeli airstrike targeted a residential apartment in the Al-Nasr neighborhood, specifically on Al-Lababidi Street, killing two people, including Ezzedine al-Beik (known as Abu Hamza Ashmawi), the commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades' northern Gaza brigade.

In central Gaza, operations in Deir al-Balah included artillery shelling and a large-scale demolition of buildings. Reports indicate at least one fatality in the area due to gunfire. Additional strikes and clashes were reported in Beit Lahia and the Nuseirat refugee camp, contributing to a total of four deaths and 19 injuries reported by health officials over a 24-hour period.

These incidents occur as the ceasefire, mediated by Arab and American parties, faces ongoing instability. Since the ceasefire began on October 11, local sources report significant cumulative casualties and displacement across the territory.
