A six-story residential building, identified as the Al-Saada building, collapsed in the Tal al-Hawa/Al-Sina'a area of western Gaza City during the early hours of Wednesday. The structure, which was housing approximately six displaced families, had previously sustained significant structural damage from Israeli strikes during the ongoing conflict.

Casualty reports vary, with the Gaza Health Ministry stating at least 16 people were killed, including 12 women and children. Rescue operations are being conducted by Gaza Civil Defence and municipal teams, who are facing severe difficulties due to a lack of heavy machinery and excavators. Many rescuers have been forced to dig through the concrete debris using only their bare hands.

Approximately 100 people are reported missing or trapped beneath the rubble. The collapse also destroyed several nearby tents housing displaced persons. Officials have warned that roughly 2,000 other damaged buildings across the Gaza Strip remain at risk of sudden collapse, particularly as winter approaches.
