Gaza civilian casualties rise as Israeli drone strike kills two Palestinians, including a child
An Israeli drone strike west of Khan Younis killed two Palestinians, one of whom was a minor, and wounded several others, according to the Palestinian WAFA news agency. The attack occurred near Dream Hall in the Khan Younis governorate despite a cease‑fire that has been in place since October.
Separate Israeli bombardments in the Gaza Strip caused further civilian deaths. In the Gaza City apartment complex, two sisters, 4‑year‑old Zina and 14‑year‑old Lana, were among several people killed. In the Bureij refugee camp, Al Jazeera cameraman Ahmed Wishah was killed alongside other civilians. Additional strikes hit the Muwasi market area in southern Gaza, leaving one dead and at least eight injured, while other attacks in Gaza City resulted in four more injuries.
Palestinian health authorities say the cease‑fire has not prevented new civilian casualties, raising concerns about its effectiveness and prompting international criticism of the ongoing military operations.
