UN Women reported that nearly 50,000 women and girls have been killed or severely injured, with more than 38,000 deaths and 11,700 life-altering injuries. The organization also noted that spontaneous abortions nearly tripled during the first half of 2026.

Over 100 humanitarian and human rights organizations have issued a joint statement declaring the current ceasefire to be ‘ink on paper’ only. Tensions also persist regarding medical facilities. Hamas has denied Israeli allegations that Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza was being used for military purposes, calling the claims ‘false and baseless.’ The Israeli military maintains that militants have used such facilities for operations, including the alleged planting of explosives.
