Gaza conflict: Humanitarian crisis and Hamas funding investigations

Investigations into the ongoing conflict in Gaza highlight both the financial dynamics involving Hamas and the deteriorating humanitarian conditions on the ground. Reports indicate that since 2018, the Israeli government permitted Qatar to transfer approximately $30 million per month to Gaza. While officially intended for humanitarian aid, electricity, and civil servants, some Israeli officials and witnesses have alleged that portions of these funds were diverted to Hamas's armed wing.

Simultaneously, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has raised alarms regarding the impact of Israeli military movements. The organization reports that Israeli forces now control approximately 65% of the Gaza Strip. A military-established “yellow line,” originally presented as a temporary demarcation for a ceasefire, has expanded westward. MSF describes this line as a mechanism of encirclement that restricts the Palestinian population to less than 35% of the territory, cutting off access to essential water, healthcare, and vital infrastructure.
