Gaza and West Bank face escalating violence and casualties

Violence continues across the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. In the Gaza Strip, medical sources and the Ministry of Health report that the death toll has exceeded 74,000, with children, women, and the elderly making up over 52 percent of the fatalities. Doctors Without Borders has warned that the humanitarian situation is worsening as Israel continues to destroy essential infrastructure, noting that over 80 percent of buildings in the territory have been damaged.

In the occupied West Bank, recent incidents include a fatal confrontation near Bani Naim, east of Hebron, where Israeli forces opened fire on a vehicle. Palestinian officials identified the deceased as 38-year-old Hossam Alaa al-Din Abdul Jabbar Walad Ali, while two others were seriously injured. The Israeli military stated the vehicle was driving suspiciously and attempted to ram soldiers. Additionally, reports indicate a wave of attacks by Israeli settlers and military forces across the West Bank, resulting in multiple injuries and property damage in areas such as Jenin, Nablus, and Ramallah.
