Gaza displacement crisis deepens as Israeli evacuations intensify
Israeli forces have stepped up air strikes and ground incursions across Gaza, issuing successive evacuation orders that force thousands of families to abandon newly established shelters. Residents report being compelled to move repeatedly, with some receiving a fourth notice to leave a temporary shop set up in a damaged home. The expanding operations in northern and central Gaza, including Deir al‑Balah and al‑Zaytun, have pushed displaced people into already overcrowded camps, many of which lack sufficient tents or shelter space.
Humanitarian groups warn that 92% of Gaza’s housing has been destroyed and the continuous displacement is part of an Israeli strategy to render the enclave uninhabitable. The ongoing bombardments and forced relocations exacerbate the humanitarian catastrophe, leaving civilians with limited safe areas and worsening living conditions.
