Gaza City: Israeli airstrike hits municipal police headquarters

The International Commission to Support the Rights of the Palestinian People (Hashd) has condemned an Israeli airstrike on a municipal police headquarters in central Gaza City. The attack resulted in the deaths of eight Palestinian police officers and leaders, as well as one child, and left approximately 15 others injured.

According to the Gaza Ministry of Interior, the deceased include Brigadier General Ayman Mahmoud Jundia, Colonel Osama Hashem Al-Hujain, and several other high-ranking officers. Hashd characterized the strike as a deliberate war crime intended to dismantle civil peace and incite chaos within the Gaza Strip by targeting law enforcement institutions.

The organization stated that destroying police infrastructure and personnel undermines the ability to maintain public order, protect property, and resolve disputes, thereby creating a security vacuum that leaves civilians vulnerable to crime and internal conflict.
