Gaza: Five Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes

Five Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on the third anniversary of the Hamas attacks on Israel.

In northern Gaza, Al-Shifa Hospital reported two deaths in Jabalya during dawn strikes. The Israeli military stated it “neutralized” two “terrorists,” claiming one had placed explosives at the Kamal Antoine Hospital and the other was a Hamas operative posing as a Civil Defense worker. In southern Gaza, Nasser Hospital reported three deaths and several injuries following strikes in Khan Younis.

The humanitarian situation remains critical despite a fragile ceasefire mediated by the United States that took effect in October 2025. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians continue to live in tents or temporary shelters amidst the ruins of destroyed buildings. Residents in areas like Beit Hanoun report extreme hunger, displacement, and rapidly rising prices, noting that many loved ones remain buried under rubble.
