Gaza: Five Palestinians killed in Israeli strikes
Five Palestinians were killed in various Israeli military strikes across the northern and southern Gaza Strip on Friday. The casualties included three members of the Abdeen family—two brothers and their cousin—who were targeted by a drone near the Al-Matahen intersection in the town of Al-Qarara, south of the territory.
In Gaza City, two individuals were killed in separate incidents: one following a drone strike in the Al-Sabra neighborhood and another near the Tunnel area. Additional injuries were reported in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood and near Deir al-Balah due to gunfire from Israeli vehicles. In Khan Younis, military vehicles and naval vessels were reported to have engaged in heavy gunfire and shelling.
These strikes occur despite a ceasefire agreement that has been in effect since October 2025. The Israeli military claimed to have killed two commanders from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in separate raids on Thursday. According to Gaza health authorities, the total death toll since October 7, 2023, has reached approximately 73,438 people.
