Gaza Health Ministry warns ambulance and transport services may cease amid Israeli siege

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip warned on Saturday that the few remaining ambulance and public‑transport vehicles are no longer fit for daily use. The ministry said that a sustained Israeli siege has blocked the entry of tires, spare parts, fuel and oils, preventing routine maintenance for months and leaving the fleet in a state of severe technical fault.

The warning follows an April notice that the health sector faced a deteriorating situation, with acute shortages of fuel, equipment and medicines. Officials said the lack of spare parts could lead to a complete paralysis of medical‑staff and patient transport, compounding the humanitarian impact of the war that began on 7 October 2023.
