Gaza Strip: Over 200,000 buildings damaged or destroyed since October 2023

The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), supported by UNOSAT satellite assessments, reports that approximately 201,290 buildings in the Gaza Strip have been damaged or destroyed between October 7, 2023, and June 16, 2026. This figure represents roughly 82 percent of all buildings in the Gaza Strip.

Of the total affected structures, 134,422 have been completely destroyed, while 13,848 have sustained heavy damage. The report also indicates that 328,627 residential units have been impacted.

Significant destruction has also been recorded in the West Bank. In the Jenin refugee camp, 680 buildings (approximately 53 percent) were damaged. In the Nur Shams camp, 434 buildings (55 percent) were affected, and in the Tulkarm camp, 407 buildings (approximately 37 percent) were damaged as of February 2026.
