Gaza: Israeli strikes in Deir al-Balah cause casualties

Israeli military strikes in the Gaza Strip have resulted in further casualties, including a death and several injuries in Deir al-Balah. Reports indicate that an Israeli drone targeted a courtyard in the Al-Bassa area, while another strike hit a tent housing displaced persons near Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

These incidents occur amid ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement that has been in effect since October 11, 2025. The Israeli military claimed responsibility for a strike in Deir al-Balah, stating it killed a company commander from the Al-Qassam Brigades.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that ceasefire violations have led to 1,285 deaths and 4,252 injuries since the agreement began. Since the conflict escalated in October 2023, the total death toll in the Gaza Strip has reached 73,419, with 174,364 injured.
