Gaza: Israeli strikes kill six, wound dozens at Khan Younis police post and refugee camp

On 6 June 2026 Israeli forces launched air and artillery attacks in the Gaza Strip. rockets struck a police checkpoint near Khan Younis, killing five Palestinians and wounding ten, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

Later the same morning a barrage hit tents housing displaced families in the Mouawasa area of Khan Younis, killing one civilian and injuring roughly 16 others. The attacks occurred despite the cease‑fire that has been in place since October 2023, raising the cumulative death toll in Gaza since that agreement to more than 72 thousand people.
