Gaza: Palestinian detainees released as Israel discusses emigration plans

Thirteen Palestinian detainees were released from Israeli captivity and arrived at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis via the Kerem Shalom crossing. The release was supervised by the International Committee of the Red Cross. One released individual, Ahmed al-Ashra, alleged he experienced mistreatment and inadequate living conditions during his detention.

Separately, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that while plans to facilitate Palestinian emigration from Gaza remain under consideration, the proposal has been frozen by President Donald Trump following pressure from Arab nations. Katz noted that potential host countries are seeking U.S. support for such a plan. He added that Israel is prepared to facilitate departures by sea or air, though not through Egypt.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited an Israeli military position near the border of Hamas-controlled territory, vowing that Israel would not withdraw from its military positions in the Gaza Strip.
