Gaza shelters hit by Israeli airstrikes amid UN‑reported fuel shortages

Israeli fighter jets bombed Gaza City on June 23, targeting a refugee tent belonging to the Yassin family in Sheikh Ajlin and a school in the Al‑Tuffah district. The attack injured one person and forced dozens of families to abandon their temporary shelters.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said on June 22 that a severe fuel shortage is impairing essential services across Gaza. Humanitarian convoys continue to enter through the Kerem Shalom/Karem Abu Salem crossing, but fuel supplies—reliant on a single Egyptian source and subject to Israeli restrictions—remain limited. When available, fuel is prioritized for life‑saving operations, with generators often lacking necessary oil. The UN also reported ongoing violent incidents in the West Bank and persistent constraints on aid deliveries.
