Gaza Strip experiences ongoing military strikes and medical strain

The Gaza Strip continues to face intense military activity, including airstrikes, artillery shelling, and the demolition of residential buildings and displacement camps. Recent strikes in areas such as Gaza City, Jabalia, Nuseirat, Khan Younis, and Rafah resulted in 7 deaths and 24 injuries within a 24-hour period, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.

The cumulative death toll since October 7, 2023, has reached 74,494, with 175,604 injuries reported. The humanitarian situation remains critical due to infrastructure destruction and restrictions on aid and movement.

In the medical sector, the Jordanian field hospital in southern Gaza/11 has treated over 36,000 cases since its inception. The facility has performed more than 800 surgeries, including 340 major and 460 minor procedures. The hospital provides specialized services such as prosthetics, burn care, radiology, and physical therapy to address the needs of the injured amidst severe resource shortages.
