Gaza Strip faces ongoing humanitarian crisis three years into conflict

Three years after the conflict began in the Gaza Strip, civilians continue to face extreme hardship amidst ongoing military operations. Despite a ceasefire agreement reached in October 2025 and a subsequent United Nations Security Council plan to end the conflict, residents report that shelling and gunfire persist.

In northern Gaza, residents struggle with severe shortages of food, clean water, and medicine. Many are forced to eat only twice a day and must collect firewood to cook. Access to water is highly restricted, with long queues required to obtain even low-quality water for daily use. The landscape remains heavily scarred by rubble and destroyed buildings.

Reports from the ground also highlight the complex internal dynamics in Gaza. While local journalists document the destruction caused by Israeli military actions, the influence and governance of Hamas remain a significant factor in the region's daily life and security environment.
