Gazan detainees released as Israeli raid in West Bank kills worker
Twelve Palestinians from the Gaza Strip have been released from Israeli detention through the Kerem Abu Salem border crossing. The group, primarily consisting of laborers and one merchant, was received by the International Committee of the Red Cross and transported to the Nasser Hospital Complex in southern Gaza for medical evaluation. Released individuals reportedly showed signs of extreme fatigue, malnutrition, and physical and psychological trauma.
In a separate incident in the northern West Bank, an Israeli military raid on the Zakat Committee Center in Tulkarm resulted in the death of a Palestinian identified as Assad Meliha. Local reports indicate Meliha was a worker from Gaza residing at the center. During the raid, Israeli forces reportedly damaged the building and detained several other Gazan workers whose current whereabouts remain unknown. These workers had previously held official permits to work in Israel before their permits were revoked following the outbreak of conflict in October 2023.
