Gaza’s Yellow Line advances, displacing families in Shujayea
Israeli forces are advancing the ‘Yellow Line’ demarcation in the Gaza Strip, causing repeated displacement for Palestinian families. The line, established as part of an October 2025 ceasefire agreement to divide territory between Israeli and Palestinian control, has seen its boundaries move deeper into Gaza.
In the Shujayea neighborhood of eastern Gaza City, Israeli forces moved yellow concrete demarcation blocks dozens of meters westward on October 11. This movement has brought more territory under Israeli military control and forced local residents to flee. According to the United Nations, Israeli forces now control approximately 65 percent of Gaza, an increase from the 53 percent controlled a year ago.
