Israeli military expansion of Gaza Yellow Line

Overview

Israeli military forces are expanding the ‘Yellow Line’ demarcation zone in the Gaza Strip, a boundary established under an October 2025 ceasefire agreement to divide territory between Israeli and Palestinian control.

In the Shujayea neighborhood of eastern Gaza City, the movement of concrete demarcation blocks westward has displaced local families. This expansion has continued into the al-Tuffah neighborhood toward Salah al-Din Street, forcing residents in temporary shelters to flee. According to the United Nations, Israeli forces now control approximately 65 percent of Gaza, up from 53 percent the previous year.

Alongside the territorial expansion, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported the killing of two men, Basel Nabil Abd al-Rahman Kashta and Ahmad Raja al-Shaer, whom the military accused of smuggling weapons and military equipment into the strip. The Gaza Ministry of Health reported that recent attacks on residential areas resulted in three deaths and 17 injuries, contributing to a cumulative war toll of 74,392 fatalities since October 7, 2023.
