Gazi University hosts panel on Palestinian resistance

Gazi University and the Ankara Palestine Solidarity Platform (ANFİDAP) organized a panel titled “From Independence to Conscience, From Melody to Resistance: The Palestinian Cause.” The event featured academic discussions regarding the ongoing conflict in Gaza and the historical parallels of resistance.

Gazi University Rector Prof. Dr. Uğur Ünal addressed the assembly, stating that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights has been rendered void in the context of Palestinian children. He criticized the international community for treating the suffering in Gaza as mere statistics and noted that the destruction in the region represents a loss of human dignity.

During the panel, Prof. Dr. Oğuzhan Aydın drew comparisons between the struggle for independence in Maraş and the current situation in Gaza. He emphasized that despite offers of citizenship or financial compensation from supporters of Zionism, Gazans have remained on their land for decades to protect their territory and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
