Seçil Erzan faces up to 211 years in prison for fraud allegations

Prosecutors have requested a prison sentence of between 56 years 6 months and 211 years 9 months for former bank manager Seçil Erzan. The request comes during her retrial in Istanbul following a previous 102-year sentence that was overturned by the Istanbul Regional Court of Justice due to procedural errors and insufficient detail regarding joined files.

Erzan is accused of defrauding numerous individuals, including high-profile figures such as Arda Turan, Fernando Muslera, Selçuk İnan, and Buse Terim, by promising high returns through a fraudulent investment fund. The prosecution has charged her with qualified fraud against three individuals, and fraud and forgery of private documents against 27 others.

In addition to Erzan, prosecutors have requested various prison terms for five other defendants, including Nur Erkasap, Ali Yörük, Atilla Yörük, Nazlı Can, and Hüseyin Elibol. The court has adjourned the hearing until December 7 to allow the parties to respond to the prosecution's opinion.
