Turkey advances post‑earthquake housing projects in Gaziantep and Hatay

In Gaziantep, the metropolitan municipality handed over keys and titles for 1,000 newly built apartments in the Kuzeyşehir and Güneyşehir projects and conducted a lottery to allocate units for another 1,000 homes. A foundation‑laying ceremony also marked the start of the 5,000‑unit Bahçelievler phase. AK Party deputy chairman Hayati Yazıcı and mayor Fatma Şahin attended the events.

In Hatay, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change, together with local officials, held a “Home Owner Turkey” lottery that assigned 8,500 social‑housing units to eligible families. The allocations are part of the second phase of the President’s “Century‑long Housing Project” and are scheduled for delivery in October 2026. The ceremony also included the handover of a new market complex in Antakya’s historic Arasta district.

Separately, the government published new construction‑cost tables that will be used to calculate property taxes for 2027, affecting millions of Turkish homeowners.
