Gaziantep hosts TÜBİTEM science and technology forum

The Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, through the Müzeyyen Erkul Gaziantep Science Center, organized the TÜBİTEM event from 9–11 July. The forum brought together scientists, technologists, entrepreneurs and innovators to discuss artificial intelligence, big data, research, and future professions. Speakers shared career experiences and insights on scientific production, innovative thinking, technology literacy and the impact of AI on jobs.

Mayor Fatma Şahin highlighted the city’s ambition to become a “science city” and emphasized the role of philanthropy and education in achieving that goal. TÜBİTAK President Prof. Orhan Aydın announced plans to increase the number of science centers nationwide from 41 to 100 by year‑end, underscoring the country’s broader push for research and technological development.
