Gaziantep launches Gazi Konut Bahçelievler garden‑home project amid strong public demand

The Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, together with its housing subsidiary Gazi Konut, announced the Bahçelievler (garden‑home) project aimed at providing affordable, single‑story houses with private gardens. Applications opened on 8 July 2026 and run until 20 July, both online at gbbkonut.com.tr and at municipal offices. The first phase will deliver 20 000 homes of about 30 m² living space with a 70 m² garden.

Pricing is set at 590 000 TL for veterans, martyr families and retirees, with a 25 % down‑payment and the balance paid in monthly installments of 9 000 TL. Other citizens pay 690 000 TL, with a 50 % down‑payment and 19 000 TL monthly installments. Recipients will receive titles within a year of the lottery, which is scheduled for the end of July. Subsequent phases will include medium‑ and low‑scale detached houses.

Mayor Fatma Şahin and Governor Kemal Çeber highlighted the project as a model for green urban living, expecting residents to grow their own produce and foster neighbourhood ties. The initiative has attracted extensive public interest, with long queues forming at Gazi Konut offices on the first day of registration.
