Gaziantep Opens New Fırat Mahallesi Park under Hayat Project
Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyesi and the Gaziantep Governorate jointly inaugurated the Fırat Mahallesi Park, a 3,428 m² green space created under the municipal "Hayat Project". The park, developed on a 19,200 m² reclaimed area, offers a 230 m² children’s playground, a 957 m² landscaped garden, a 781 m² walking path, a 210 m² fitness zone, modern seating, a rock‑garden and other amenities. Mayor Fatma Şahin highlighted the project as part of a broader urban transformation that also provides new schools, health facilities, worship places, road upgrades and additional parks to improve neighborhood living standards.
The opening ceremony featured municipal officials and underscored the collaboration between the municipality and the governorate to enhance quality of life for residents of Şahinbey district’s Fırat neighbourhood.
