GE Vernova has signed an agreement to acquire Trench Group, a global manufacturer of high-voltage grid equipment, from investment firm Triton Partners. The deal is valued at approximately $9 billion USD, funded through an equal split of cash and debt. The transaction is expected to close in late 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and employee consultations.

Trench Group specializes in high- and medium-voltage bushings, instrument transformers, and coils, serving over 800 utilities and hyperscalers. The company employs more than 3,000 people and operates 11 manufacturing sites across North America, Europe, and Asia. GE Vernova expects the acquisition to provide significant vertical integration for its Electrification segment, specifically within its Grid Systems Integration and Power Transmission businesses.

Alongside the acquisition announcement, GE Vernova reported strong third-quarter financial results, with revenue rising 27% to $12.6 billion. The company also raised its 2026 revenue guidance to a range of $46.5 billion to $47.5 billion and increased its 2026 free cash flow forecast to between $16 billion and $17 billion. Additionally, the company doubled its share repurchase authorization to $20 billion.
