GE Vernova Shares Fall After Disappointing Earnings

GE Vernova Inc. reported second‑quarter 2026 results that missed analysts' expectations. Earnings per share came in at $2.47, short of the consensus forecast of $3.17, while revenue rose 21.9% year‑over‑year to $11.10 billion, edging past the $10.78 billion estimate.

The earnings miss pushed the stock down 8.1% during trading, with shares briefly reaching $985.03 before closing around $991.80. The company also disclosed a quarterly dividend of $0.50 per share, yielding an annualized $2.00 dividend and a payout ratio of 5.83%.

Earlier in 2026, GE Vernova had surged nearly 80% as demand from AI‑driven data centers boosted orders for natural‑gas turbines and electrification equipment, expanding its backlog to $163 billion. However, margin pressure in the wind‑turbine segment and the earnings shortfall have tempered investor enthusiasm.
